Abstract This project seeks to develop and validate computational simulation capabilities for analyzing hail impacts on PV modules. Project tasks include characterizing a hail ice material model, modifying existing module simulation models to accept hail ice impact inputs, validating simulations against high speed video using digital image correlation, and conducting parametric studies to identify factors influencing module robustness.
