Abstract Wattglass has developed a superhydrophilic coating that increases contaminant removal by 20% after a light rain and provides a 3% increase in solar weighted transmittance. Hydrophilic coatings may increase the risk of PID, and this proposal includes the use of the coating on the backside of the glass to minimize Na diffusion and minimize bubble formation during ionomer deposition.
